Ilves Tampere is one of the most historic and successful clubs in Finnish ice hockey. The 16-time Finnish champions have consistently been among the top teams in the Liiga in recent years and recently impressed with strong performances both in the domestic playoffs and in the Champions Hockey League. Ilves especially caught international attention during the latest CHL campaign, where the team was only stopped in the quarter-finals. Since 2021, the club has played its home games at the state-of-the-art Nokia Arena, which it shares with local rival Tappara. After their first participation in 1972, the Finnish side now returns to the Spengler Cup Davos more than 50 years later.
