IFK HELSINKI

The storied club from the Finnish capital returns to Davos with an exciting mix of young talents and experienced players. For IFK Helsinki, it will be the fifth appearance at the world’s oldest club tournament, following participations in 1994, 1995, 2004, and 2022.
Founded in 1897, IFK is one of Europe’s oldest hockey clubs and has a proud history with seven Finnish championship titles, the most recent in 2011. The team has reached the playoffs for eleven consecutive seasons. In 2024/25, IFK finished fourth in the regular season but was eliminated in the quarterfinals by eventual runner-up SaiPa. The roster includes several promising prospects, with seven players born in 2004 or later, all aiming to follow in the footsteps of NHL stars Miro Heiskanen and Anton Lundell.
Behind the bench stands Olli Jokinen, a legendary Finnish forward with nearly 1,400 NHL games, now leading the team as head coach. Under his guidance, IFK aims to climb closer to the top of Finnish hockey – and make a strong impression in Davos.
