U.S. Collegiate Selects to return to the Spengler Cup
2.4.2026, 17:00

The U.S. Collegiate Selects will also take part in the next two editions of the Spengler Cup. The Organizing Committee has signed a two-year agreement together with representatives of the NCAA selection.
When the team of American college players competed in Davos for the first time at the 97th Spengler Cup, many eyes were on the traditional tournament. There was great anticipation to see how the NCAA players would perform against established professional teams from Europe. After a narrow opening loss to Team Canada, the U.S. Collegiate Selects made a statement with a win against hosts HC Davos. They then advanced to the final with a convincing semi-final victory over Sparta Prague, before being stopped by eventual champions HC Davos.
The U.S. Collegiate Selects quickly won over the fans in Davos. Their fighting spirit as well as their creative and dynamic style of play added a refreshing element to the world’s oldest club tournament.
The Organizing Committee is therefore delighted to continue this successful partnership. Thanks to the new agreement, the U.S. Collegiate Selects will also participate in the 2026 and 2027 editions of the Spengler Cup. OC President Marc Gianola said: «We are once again looking forward to exciting and refreshing hockey. The College Boys bring new energy and a positive spirit to our traditional tournament.»
With the U.S. Collegiate Selects, Frölunda HC, the SCL Tigers, as well as hosts and defending champions HC Davos, four of the six participating teams for the 98th Spengler Cup Davos have now been confirmed. The remaining teams will be announced once the respective agreements have been finalized.
Advance sales for single-game tickets will start on 8 September 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Season tickets for all eleven games can be ordered from mid-July. VIP hospitality packages are already available for booking via the official Spengler Cup website.
