Hockey Canada announces management team

With Stacy Roest, Team Canada’s all-time points leader returns to Davos. He will assist Marc Bergevin, who has been named General Manager of this year’s Team Canada.

Marc Bergevin and Stacy Roest will take charge of Team Canada at this year’s Spengler Cup. For many fans of the traditional year-end tournament, Roest is a familiar face. The long-time Rapperswil-Jona Lakers player took part in the Spengler Cup six times as a member of Team Canada and won it in his first appearance in 2003. In 27 games, he recorded 8 goals and 16 assists, making him still the highest-scoring Canadian player in Spengler Cup history.

Leading the Maple Leaf squad is Marc Bergevin, former General Manager of the Montréal Canadiens and current advisor to the Los Angeles Kings. Bergevin brings international experience, having been part of Canada’s management team during their 2016 World Cup victory. For Stacy Roest, this will be his first experience in a management role at the Spengler Cup. The combination of Bergevin’s NHL expertise and Roest’s knowledge of Swiss hockey promises to be an intriguing mix for Team Canada.
