DEL finalists Adler Mannheim to compete at the 98th Spengler Cup Davos

With Adler Mannheim, another participant for the Spengler Cup Davos 2026 has been confirmed. This season’s playoff finalists of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga will take part in the traditional tournament for the ninth time – their first appearance in eleven years.

Following the participation of the Straubing Tigers in 2024, Davos will once again welcome a team from the DEL in 2026. Adler Mannheim previously competed in the Spengler Cup in 1958, 1991, 1997, 2001, 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2015. A tournament final appearance, however, has so far eluded the club.

The eight-time German champions reached the playoff final in the 2025/26 season but were recently defeated 4–1 in the series by the Eisbären Berlin. Adler Mannheim have long been one of the leading organizations in German ice hockey and are also renowned for their outstanding player development: current NHL players such as Leon Draisaitl, Moritz Seider and Tim Stützle all spent part of their development within the club’s junior system.

The team plays its home games at the SAP Arena, opened in 2005, which regularly attracts crowds of more than 12,400 spectators. During their previous appearances at the Spengler Cup, large numbers of fans have also travelled to Davos between Christmas and New Year, something that is expected to create a vibrant atmosphere once again.

With Adler Mannheim, the U.S. Collegiate Selects, Frölunda HC, the SCL Tigers as well as hosts and defending champions HC Davos, five teams have now been confirmed for the 98th Spengler Cup Davos. The sixth and final participant will be announced in the coming weeks.

Advance sales for single-game tickets will start on 8th September 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Season tickets for all eleven games can be ordered from mid-July. VIP hospitality packages are already available for booking via the official Spengler Cup website.
