Davos' Dario Buergler sets himself against Minsk's Yaorslav Chupris

HC Davos started the 83rd Spengler Cup with a successful bang.  Nick Naumenko who has been loaned to the team from the SCL Tigers, gave the highlight of the evening with a marvelous slapshot into the goal on a Powerplay in the 57^th minute.  His shot guaranteed the 3:2 home victory against Dynamo Minsk.

The party immediately got off to a positive start for Davos.  After only 8 seconds, Reto von Arx gave the hosts a goal advantage.  The team from the Russian Premiere League reacted quickly, however.  While the team was short-handed, Warlamow scored to make it 1:1.  After Jokela's solo score, the Russian Spengler Cup novices lead until the 37^th minute until Antonow accidentally deflected a cross pass by Reto von Arx into his own team's goal.
