UFA wins against Pardubice.

Russian team Salavat Yulaev from Ufa beat the Czechs of HC Möller Pardubice with the result of 5:0. After the first third the Russians were leading just with one goal in advance but already after the first 20 minutes it was obvious how strong the Russians are.

Pardubice had just one chance in the firs third and this not because they played weak, the Russians played very fast and technically on a very high level and therefore it was difficult for the Czechs to stopped them.

In the second third Pardubice gain some more confidence and had some really good opportunities to score, but Russian keeper Eremenko played an excellent match this afternoon and saved his team in several occasions. In the last 5 minutes of the second third Ufa took the match again in their hands and scored twice. With a lead of 3:0 they players left for the break. This result was very disappointing for Pardubice, who already lost his first match yesterday versus Team Canada. In this second third Pardubice wasn't weaker than Ufa but they couldn't transform their chances to a goal.

The big difference today was that Ufa was playing very efficient and that Pardubice committed too many fouls. The Czechs did the same mistake like yesterday; they committed too many fouls which caused a lot of punishments. Against such teams like Team Canada or Ufa these punishments are decisive. In the last third the Russians were dominating again and left their opponent barely any chances. With another two goals in the last 20 minutes Ufa finished their first performance at the Spengler Cup successfully. In several cases Ufa-players showed how skilled they are and that their team is one of the favourite for winning this year's Spengler Cup.
