Experience for Kloten: 39-year-old Nylander

Swedish center Michael Nylander (39) will enforce the Kloten Flyers at the 2011 Spengler Cup.

Between 1992 and 2011, he played for several NHL teams, among them the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers.

Since last October, he had been playing for the ZSC Lions from Zurich, but his expiring contract has not been extended.

Schawalder: ''Nylander Has a Lot of Experience''

Nylander is extremely happy to play at the Spengler Cup, and Schawalder, the Kloten Flyers General Manager, says: ''Nylander will be an important factor in our power play game. He has a lot of experience and will be very interesting and attractive to watch on the ice“.

Together with Nylander, 26-year-old defender Alain Birbaum, who’s played 460 Swiss national league games for the team of Fribourg-Gottéron so far, will also be on the Kloten Flyers’ Spengler Cup squad.
