Eliane Dünki and Boyfriend Robin Grossmann

Her family supports the Kloten Flyers, but she keeps her fingers crossed for HC Davos. And this year, Eliane Dünki doesn't want to miss any of her team's Spengler Cup matches.

Eliane Dünki has two passions: the love of her life and satisfaction in her job. These are the two reasons why she commutes between Kloten and Davos. Eliane Dünki is Robin Grossmann’s girlfriend and she works as an event manager in the Zurich area. Grossmann, who’s originally from the Swiss canton of Aargau, has been playing for HC Davos for 3.5 years and has been riding on a real wave of success with the club.

Enjoying the Winter Season in Davos

Eliane Dünki spends most weekends during the winter season in Davos, where she meets a lot of friends and enjoys the mountain views and the peace: ''On our balcony, I can really relax and recharge my batteries.'' But she’s found her dream job near Zurich. ''My job as an event manager with Amazing Event AG is very fascinating. The Street Parade in Zurich, which is held in August every year, is one of our most important mandates.'' The Street Parade – an event that Robin Grossmann is also very fascinated by. ''And I always have many interesting and mostly funny stories to tell, '' says Eliane Dünki. During the summer, Grossmann often drives down to Kloten to see her, and during the winter months, Dünki likes to relax in the Davos home they moved into last summer.

Eliane Dünki is glad that she’s off during the Spengler Cup this year. Last year, that was different: ''Back then, I was working for the mountain railways in Davos and didn’t get any time off during Christmas and New Year. That’s why I only saw one Spengler Cup game.''

Fascinated by the Spengler Cup

If possible she’d like to see every Spengler Cup game this year, keep her fingers crossed for her boyfriend and support HC Davos in the stadium: ''I think that the games against teams from abroad are especially fascinating.''

Eliane Dünki knows both Swiss teams at this year’s Spengler Cup – the Kloten Flyers and HC Davos – very well. Her brother Thomas used to play hockey and her family supports the Kloten Flyers. ''When I was a teenager, I wasn’t really interested in hockey anymore,'' she says. But that suddenly changed when she met her boyfriend Robin Grossmann: Eliane Dünki is in the stadium whenever HC Davos plays its home games on weekends or when the club is in action in the Zurich area. And the fact that hockey is the most important thing during the Christmas season doesn’t annoy her: ''Robin is of course very focused on hockey during this time as well. But we’re really looking forward to spending Christmas together with our families for the first time ever and then seeing some exciting action at the Spengler Cup.''
