New TV Broadcaster at the Spengler Cup

TSN will be broadcasting Spengler Cup games in Canada.
Swiss TV will be offering 30 hours of Spengler Cup coverage this year. But not only Swiss TV stations will be present in Davos, as the traditional tournament is also a favourite among hockey fans in Canada. For the first time, the 2010 Spengler Cup will be covered by TSN, Canada's number one sports station.
Paul Graham, Executive Producer of TSN, says the newly acquired rights for Spengler Cup broadcasts will enlarge his station's hockey coverage, which already includes the NHL, the Junior World Championships, the World Championships and many other hockey events. TSN is very pleased to be covering the Spengler Cup: "The Spengler Cup is a top-class tournament in a beautiful location. It's a great addition to our hockey coverage during the Christmas season; even more so as Team Canada contends for the tournament win every year", says Paul Graham. And he adds that hockey is Canadians' favourite sports: "The more hockey we can offer on our station, the better for our viewers and for us."
The Spengler Cup Organizing Committee is also happy about this new cooperation with TSN. "The Spengler Cup gets more media attention because TSN, Canada's number one sports station, will be broadcasting the games. I'm very pleased that we get to cooperate with this new partner. At the same time, I would also like to thank Rogers TV, with whom we'd been working for several years", says Fredi Pargätzi, President of the Organizing Committee. TSN's commentators in Davos will be Paul Romanuk and former HC Davos player Doug Honegger.
Also Broadcast in the Czech Republic
On top of this, a contract has been signed with Fox Sports Middle East Limited. The TV station will be broadcasting eleven Spengler Cup games in the Czech Republic in January. Furthermore, it has been announced some time ago that both the Spengler Cup final on 31 December (delayed) and the first semi-final on 30 December will be broadcast live on Eurosport 1. All other games can be watched live on Eurosport 2, some on Eurosport Asia & Pacific, and the Russian TV station VGTRK will be covering the Spengler Cup as well. Last year's games seem to have been especially popular in the Dominican Republic, and "Sky Mexico" will also be broadcasting the hockey action on the ice of the Vaillant Arena in a region where temperatures are rather high at this time of year.
