Ice Hockey fans can follow the excitement of the Spengler Cup this year on Eurosport.  This is a further international extension of the renowned Spengler Cup television coverage by the International Management Group (IMG).

A new addition to this year's coverage, Eurosport 2 will not only broadcast the games live, but will also bring much more post-game coverage and replays.  On January 2, 2009 Eurosport 1 will broadcast a round up show of the Finals for all the television spectators who do not have the pay-TV access to Eurosport 2.  This cooperation with Eurosport extends the Spengler Cup a European-wide viewing public.

As in the past, the Spengler Cup will also be broadcasted live on the German (SF2), French (TSR 2) and Italian (TSI 2) Swiss national stations.  The Spengler Cup coverage will also be available on HD Swiss.  The Canadian market will be covered by the sports station Rogers Digital Media Television Sports Network.

In Russia, the RTR television channel ensures coverage in yet another ice hockey hotbed.

As the Spengler Cup's central marketer, IMG guarantees an extensive coverage reach through their comprehensive cooperation with the television stations in the pertinent markets.  Consequently the Spengler Cup will gain in importance as a top international sporting event.
