Ice hockey fans can keep close tabs on the Spengler Cup

The national radio and television company SRGSSR idée suisse has exercised their option and extended for three years their contract with the Swiss Ice Hockey Organization SIHA and the National League until 2012.

Consequently the SRG SSR idée suisse will have exclusive rights to the next four editions of the Spengler Cup and cover the games of the National Champions for both television and radio broadcasts.  In addition to this, the SRG CSSR station will present highlights for all NLA contests as well as broadcasting individual live games.

"For our tournament, the support this agreement brings is essential.  We are pleased that Swiss Television will continue to broadcast the Spengler Cup for many years to come because they produce such high quality coverage," Olympic Committee President of the Spengler Cup Fredi Pargätzi explained.  Together with the five year contract signed with the Canadian Television, the Spengler Cup's television presence is well preserved for the immediate future in its most important markets.
