Fans look forward to next Spengler Cup

During the summer the organising committee's president Fredi Pargätzi took time to assess which teams would be qualified to get an invitation to the forthcoming Spengler Cup 2008.

Due to the increased stress in the national championships and the new Champions Hockey League it was challenging to recruit a high-class starting field. Despite those aggravating conditions Pargätzi was able to engage a fantastic quintet with five interesting teams.

Besides the seeded teams of HC Davos and Team Canada the Spengler Cup fans can for instance welcome Dynamo Moscow in Switzerland. After a longer absence and the win of the Spengler Cup in 1983 the Russian traditional club will represent its national colours once more.

Another top team from the east is the Czech squad of Karlovy Vary. And with ERC Ingolstadt we will see a German top team as well. Both the Czech and the German club are newcomers at Spengler Cup and they are surely motivated to cut a fine figure in Davos. Currently the organising committee is elaborating the schedule which will be available by the end of September.
